Patrons using a meeting room at either the Grove City Library or the Westland Area Library are subject to SPL’s Patron Code of Conduct as well as specific policies for the meeting rooms, which are as follows:
- A responsible adult (over 18) must be present during the entire meeting
- The patron who signed up for the room must be present before other attendees can enter the room
- All set-up and all clean up must occur during your group’s scheduled meeting time.
- Patrons may move chairs, tables and other library furniture or equipment to suit their needs, but they must return the room to its original configuration/set-up by the end of their meeting.
- Hot food, such as fast food, pizzas or catering, is prohibited in the rooms. Beverages must have lids on them. Light snacks are acceptable.
- Alcohol is prohibited on library property
- Patrons are responsible for cleaning up the room within their scheduled booking time. Failure to adequately clean and straighten the room could result in an excessive room cleaning fee.
- The meeting room may not be used for any of the following reasons:
- No promotion or sale of products or services
- No fundraising
- No private social functions (i.e., birthday or retirement parties, showers, etc.)
- No for-profit classes
- No admission may be charged
- Meetings should be conducted with a minimum of noise, and should in no way disturb other patrons conducting library business.
- All meeting rooms are equipped with a projector display system.
- The library provides the projector screen, projector and cords to connect to the projector. Wireless connection is available on select devices.
- The patron provides his or her own laptop, tablet or mobile device.
- The library tries to maintain a well-functioning system, but patrons should always be prepared for equipment failure. Staff may or may not be able to help troubleshoot based on availability.
- The patron who signed up for the room assumes financial responsibility for any damage to library property.
- Violation of the above rules and regulations by any scheduled group may preclude future use of the meeting rooms by that group.
