Daniel Tiger Storytime

Children ages 2-7 are invited to Daniel Tiger Storytime at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Grove City Library.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood to read some books featuring your favorite tiger friend. Get ready to sing, dance, learn and have lots of fun! Won’t you be my neighbor?

Friends of the Library Special Event

The Friends of Southwest Public Libraries will hold its second special event of the 2017 season from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Westland Area Library.

Local author Janet Shailer will read her children's book "Turtle Rescue at Waterlemon Cay" while artist Gina Perry, who illustrated the book, will lead an art project with a turtle theme. Additionally, marine biologist Megan Seese will talk about her work with baby sea turtles and show slides.

Every child who attends will receive a free copy of the book. No reservations are necessary.


The Westland Area Library is hiring two part-time/15-hour per week year-round Shelver positions. 

Responsibilities include shelving materials in all areas of the library’s collections; maintaining orderly shelves; retrieving materials from open and storage shelves; and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

High school student 16 years or older or adult with high school diploma or equivalent.

Starting salary: $8.15/hour
