How do I join?

Visit any Columbus Metropolitan Library or Southwest Public Libraries location between June 8 and August 3 to sign up.  At registration, you will receive a Reading Record and a calendar of events.  You can also register online at beginning June 8.

Everyone from infants to adults!

You can go to any Southwest Public Libraries or Columbus Metropolitan Library location between June 8 and August 3 to sign up. You can also register online beginning June 8.

How much does it cost?

It’s FREE!

Why should I join Summer Reading Club?

Summer reading is fun! And you’ll earn prizes!

What prizes can I earn?

Babies and toddlers (0-4) who complete the program earn a Twist and Turn Word Builder. 

Kids (5 to 11) who complete the program earn a Tote Bag. 

Teens (12 to 17) who complete the program earn a Flash Drive. 

Adults (18 and above) who complete the program earn an extra raffle entry. 

Also, you can earn raffle entries and other prizes along the way!

How do I complete the program?

To complete:
•Ages 5 or older: Read for 12 hours
•Ages 0-4: Read or be read to for 6 hours

Between June 8 and August 3

Do I need a library card?

A library card is the best card in town! It’s strongly encouraged, but not required. Be sure to bring your card every time you come to the library. If you don’t have a card, go to either Southwest Public Libraries location and sign up!

What else is happening at the library this summer?

Lots of things will be happening at the library this summer! Join us for fun programs and entertaining performers at Southwest Public Libraries! Don’t forget there are always great books just waiting to be checked out.

How can I help out at the library this summer?

Interested in helping as a Summer Reading Club VolunTeen?  If you are age 11 – 18, we would love your help!   We need VolunTeens to help with many aspects of Summer Reading Club. VolunTeen positions fill up quickly, so if you are interested, drop by the Youth Services desk at either SPL location to ask about volunteer opportunities or complete an application. Questions? Call the Grove City Library at 875-6716, ext. 146 or the Westland Area Library at 878-1301, ext. 232.   We are currently accepting applications.
